Custom Wa Handle : Desert Ironwood and African Blackwood

$120.00
Sold Out

This is an Octagonal Wa (Japanese Style) Handle for use on Japanese style kitchen knives.
The handle is made from Desert Ironwood and African Blackwood.

The handle is sanded to 600 grit and then a coat of Odie's Oil is applied and buffed off after 12-16 hours.
There is no finish on the inside of the tang hole to allow for proper glue up.

The main tang slot is a 1/2” long x roughly 1/8" wide. These are dowel construction method semi-custom handles so final fit up has to be done with small needle files or rasps as there is no universal size of handmade knife tangs. Then adhere with your preferred method.
My preferred method is melt glue. If you never plan to remove the handle for cleaning or switching to another blade then use a quality 2 part epoxy like g-flex.
